Happy Mother’s Day to the Queen Bee!

Mother’s Day is just around the corner (May 12 just in case you needed a reminder – don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone)!

This is my first year designing greeting cards for this occasion and I wanted to create something special for all the amazing moms out there. I’ve often heard the term “queen bee” used in reference to moms and it’s no wonder. Bees represent hard work, family, and of course, the queen bee who leads the hive. What better way to describe a mom, right? This worked out for me because I have always wanted to illustrate a chunky little bumblebee!

This card is available for purchase on my website – just in time for Mother’s Day!

Beyond the card itself, I wanted to take a moment to express my own gratitude to my mom. We didn’t always have the perfect relationship. In fact, most times it was pretty rocky BUT she never failed to pull through for me when I needed her the most. She helped me to get out of an abusive relationship when I was a young adult and she was there for me when I was going through some other really dark phases of my life. It was not something I asked for but she always found a way to get involved in those situations (she’s so stubborn that way). I really appreciate all that she has done for me and maybe now is the time for me to let her know because I really don’t think I ever have before.

No matter what kind of mom you have, take this Mother’s Day to show her how much you love and appreciate her.

I would love to hear about your mom and if you have a story you’d like to share, please do!
